Deirdre has extensive experience in dealing with children, young people and young adults struggling with mental distress such as self-harm, suicidal distress, depression, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, abuse, sexuality and neurodevelopmental disorders. Deirdre's work is informed by attachment theory, developmental theory, trauma theory, systems theory and interpersonal neurobiology.
Deirdre has a passion for working and providing early intervention and provides support in times of crisis to young people and families to help navigate through difficult times.
Deirdre uses play therapy and creative mediums to help assist in the therapy process. She comes from a humanistic and integrative framework providing compassion, unconditional positive regard and a non-judgemental space.
Deirdre can also provides parental consultations enhancing parents’ knowledge and supporting them when they need to help support their child through their child's lifespan.
