Play therapy helps children to resolve a range of developmental, emotional and behavioural difficulties that may be causing disruption to their lives. Play therapy can also be used to help resolve psychosocial difficulties and promote resilience, communication, concentration and emotional wellbeing. It assists children including those facing adversity from stressful events including hospitalisation, parental separation, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, behavioural difficulties, grief and loss, and trauma. Play therapists are trained professionals who provide a unique understanding of a child’s inner world through the use of play.
As a psychotherapist, Emily also provides psychological treatment to children and teenagers with emotional needs and mental health conditions. This treatment can help children and adolescents who have mental health difficulties, have experienced chronic stress, adversity and emotional or psychological difficulties. Psychotherapy aims to facilitate personal growth, alleviate distress and overcome emotional and behavioural problems.
Emily provides a safe and confidential space that supports children and their parents/carers through the challenges they may be experiencing. Parental support sessions are available in order to provide parents/carers with any guidance they may need to best support their child.
